If you want bucolic, this pub has it in spades. Located next to the Beaulieu river in the New Forest National Park, you'll find the "best ploughman's in Hampshire" here, and enough scenery to make you start spouting Wordsworth and Keats.

To get here, take a train to Brockenhurst from Waterloo. From Brockenhurst it's a short bus ride (about 12 minutes) to Filling Station, where you can get a bus direct to the pub's front door. Full directions here.
